It's comfortable, but I think of it as something to wear when I'm tired of jeans -- certainly not for dress-up. It certainly looks nice, and as the male reviewer's comment indicates, men think it's sexy. (I've had more than a few compliments while wearing it.) The dress _doesn't_ have a tight waist, that's true; but it's well-suited to a standalone belt, so I have no trouble with it. The V-neck practically cries for a pretty necklace, so you'll find that you've gussied yourself up just to go to the grocery store. I've had this dress for a couple of years -- in fact, I bought a second one in turquoise -- and it looks as good as new. (I wash it in cold on the delicate cycle of the washing machine.) That's pretty high praise for a dress that's an inexpensive as this, so I recommend it. Because of the success of this dress, I purchased additional items from Newport News; I've found their quality to be highly variable. They're good at unadorned, straightforward clothes (a set of 3 leggings for $10 is adequate, if slightly odd colorwise... but heck, it was only $10!), but I've had less positive response to anything with embroidery or decoration.
